Geospatial Development Awards GIS Development is pleased and proud to announce GIS Development Geospatial Excellence Awards for Best Applications of Geospatial Technology in Middle East Region. GIS Development will be hosting its Geospatial Excellence Awards 2009 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center in Abu Dhabi on 26th April, 2009. The event will be only of its kind in Middle East Region designed to specifically recognize achievements in the field of geospatial technology applications in past decade. The aim is to promote and propagate the best applications of geospatial technologies in the region. The Geospatial Development Awards will be granted in the form of a trophy to meritorious projects which have made significant and measurable contributions towards the development of new geospatial applications, or innovative modification of existing geospatial technology practices to substantially reduce project costs and bring in efficiency in the workflow. The significance of the contribution, both in qualitative as well as quantitative terms, will be the major criteria for selection of winners. The Geospatial Development Awards recognizes the effective accomplishments of organizations that serve as exemplars of quality, whose overall success with geospatial infrastructure solutions leads others by the example they set. It will cover the three main domains of the geospatial industry, namely, Geographic Information Systems, Imaging and Surveying. The best applications for all these technologies will be selected so that these applications can be emulated by others in different parts of the world to enjoy their documented benefits. METHODOLOGY 1. Partners, Exhibitors, and Sponsors of Map Middle East will be invited to nominate projects from among their user community only. 2. Each Partner, Exhibitor and Sponsor will be allotted fixed number of nominations depending upon their level of partnership in Map Middle East.
